Interesting reading – not sure if it’s 100% correct for everyone but will come back to it and read it for sure:
File under ‘Reading’.
Life is both a Major and a Minor key is such an eloquent, insightful and punchy lyric. It also reminded me of a story that Dave Stringer told, on one of his trips to Australia. Apparently in the Middle Ages, the use of certain chords, specifically certain intervals of two or more notes that sounded together or in succession were banned. The interval today is written as the notes C and F# and is called a tritone.
There have been many uses of the tritone in modern times by Liszt, Wagner, Sibelius and in even more modern times, Jimi Hendrix and Black Sabbath. Some of it might not be what you would want to play at a kid’s birthday party but … what is it that they say about repressing anger?
Absolutely love this song !Posted by | 0 comments
